• Photos: Food images you capture or select from your gallery

We use your information to:

1. Provide AI-Powered Analysis: Send food images to Anthropic’s Claude AI for nutritional analysis
2. Personalize Recommendations: Generate health-specific recommendations based on your profile and health conditions
3. Track Your Progress: Store your food entries and calculate daily nutrition totals
4. Improve User Experience: Remember your preferences and settings

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

• All user profile data, food entries, and nutrition information are stored locally in your Supabase account
• You maintain full control over your data
• Data is encrypted in transit and at rest

Cloud Services

We use the following third-party services:

1. Supabase (Database & Authentication)
   • Stores user profiles, food entries, and nutrition data
   • Provides anonymous authentication
   • Data is encrypted and protected by industry-standard security

2. Anthropic Claude AI
   • Processes food images to provide nutrition analysis
   • Images are sent temporarily for analysis and are not stored by Anthropic

API Key Security

• The Anthropic API key is stored server-side in Supabase Edge Functions
• API keys are never exposed to the client application
• All API calls are made through secure, authenticated endpoints

Data Sharing

We do NOT:

• Sell your personal information to third parties
• Share your health information with advertisers
• Use your data for marketing purposes
• Track your location

We ONLY share data with:

• Anthropic’s Claude AI for food analysis (images and user context)
• Supabase for secure data storage and authentication

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

1. Access Your Data: View all data stored in your profile
2. Delete Your Data: Remove your account and all associated data at any time
3. Export Your Data: Request a copy of your data

How to Delete Your Data

To delete your account and all associated data:

Children’s Privacy

NutriSnap is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Camera Permission

• Purpose: Capture photos of food for nutrition analysis
• When Requested: When you tap the camera button
• Optional: You can deny and select photos from your gallery instead

Photo Library Permission

• Purpose: Select existing photos for nutrition analysis
• When Requested: When you tap to select a photo from your gallery
• Optional: You can deny and use the camera instead

Internet Permission

• Purpose: Communicate with Supabase and Anthropic AI services
• Required: Yes, for core app functionality

Data Retention

• Active Accounts: Data is retained while your account is active
• Inactive Accounts: Data is retained indefinitely unless you request deletion
• Deleted Accounts: All data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy
• Displaying a notification in the app (for material changes)

International Data Transfers

NutriSnap does not use cookies. The app uses local storage for authentication and preferences.
