Overview

Console Viewer is a Chrome extension that captures and displays console output from web pages. Your privacy is important to us, and this extension is designed with privacy in mind.

Data Collection

What We Collect

Console Viewer captures the following data only when you explicitly enable capture for a tab:

• Console output (log, warn, error, info, debug messages)
• Page URLs where logs originated
• Timestamps of log entries
• Stack traces for errors

What We Do NOT Collect

• Personal information
• Browsing history
• Cookies or session data
• Form inputs or passwords
• Any data from tabs where capture is not enabled

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome’s Storage API. Specifically:

• Console logs are stored in chrome.storage.local
• Settings and preferences are stored in chrome.storage.local
• No data is stored on external servers
• No data is transmitted over the internet

Data Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties.

Console Viewer:

• Does not send data to external servers
• Does not use analytics or tracking services
• Does not contain advertisements
• Does not sell or share user data

Data Retention

• Logs are retained until you clear them manually or close the browser
• You can clear all logs at any time using the “Clear” button
• Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data

Permissions

Console Viewer requests the following permissions:

scripting	Inject console interceptor to capture logs
debugger	Execute JavaScript on pages with strict CSP
webNavigation	Detect page navigation to re-inject interceptor
<all_urls>	Capture logs from any website you choose

Your Control

You have full control over your data:

• Enable/Disable Capture - Choose which tabs to monitor
• Clear Logs - Delete all captured logs instantly
• Preserve Logs Toggle - Control whether logs persist across page refreshes
• Uninstall - Remove all data by uninstalling the extension

Children’s Privacy

Console Viewer does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date above.
